As the founding College of Oregon State University, for more than 150 years we have lived out our land-grant mission in education, research, and outreach. With renowned faculty working across interdisciplinary sciences, we partner with leading industries and organizations across the state and around the world to provide our students with hands-on opportunities to make a difference. Living Out Our Land Grant Mission
Dr. Jeff Reimer named Department Head of Applied Economics
Jeff Reimer has been in the Department of Applied Economics at Oregon State University since 2005, and has served as the interim department head since September of 2022. His research concerns topics in international trade, agricultural economics, price analysis, labor economics, water resources, and general equilibrium modeling.
Stephanie Harvey named Financial Officer of OSU College of Agricultural Sciences
Harvey is a dedicated financial professional, most recently serving as the Director of Capital Accounting & Financial Planning at Oregon State University. Her focus includes strategic planning and capital project accounting, with the goal of presenting timely and relevant financial information in an accessible format to best support decision-making.
Dr. Julie Pett-Ridge named Assistant Dean of Graduate Education and Research
Pett-Ridge recently spent two years at the National Science Foundation, as a program manager for large interdisciplinary programs that span ecology, earth science, engineering, chemistry, and social sciences. During this time, she also worked with program managers at USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture and at international science agencies on collaborative research funding efforts.
Dr. S. Patricia Stock named Department Head of Horticulture
Stock joins OSU with an extensive background in horticulture, entomology, and agricultural leadership, making her a valuable addition to our academic community. Stock has acted in many leadership roles, both in academia and extramurally, most recently serving as Dean of the College of Agriculture at California State University Chico.

2022 marked a number of significant milestones, including a new dean, Dr. Staci Simonich. It also marked our highest-ever year of research expenditures and marked the public launch of Oregon State University’s capital campaign.
As we lean into these accomplishments and opportunities, we recognize that now more than ever we remain steadfastly committed to make tomorrow better for everyone.
